Year 6 History Tours
During the project we carried out a number of exciting history tours, particularly for year 6 children from Christ Church School to link with their local history project.
We created a number of resources for these sessions, all of which can be downloaded from the following list:
Tree-asure Heritage Hunt
We created a biodiversity themed treasure hunt around the church which we used for a holiday club. We placed numbered trees around the church and the children had lots of fun exploring the space using this simple booklet. The templates can be found below:
Conversation and Craft Resources
We carried out over 20 Conversation and Craft sessions during the course of the project. The concept for these is simple; we bring together a class of school children, with members of all ages from the community to join together in a craft session over cakes and refreshments. If they have finished the craft we offer simple games and quizzes they can do too. The craft acts as a simple icebreaker to enable intergenerational conversations to take place. The numbers of attendees has grown throughout the project, and now with the addition of kitchen and toilets, it has meant that these are able to continue into the future, beyond the DCC! project.

Biodiversity Surveys
Early on in the project we carried out a biodiversity survey in the churchyard back in 2023.
We carried out a number of activities with an entire school year group including drawing what we could see in specified areas around the churchyard.
